1989 Identification: 81819581** Cherry Sunburst FinishRosewood Fretboard & Mother of Pearl InlayGrover Tuning Pegs Four Plastic 'Speed' Knobs--------------------------------------------------------------------------------For your consideration is a 1989 Gibson Les Paul Standard electric guitar. The guitar was purchased last year by myself through a California music store which made sure the guitar was in top notch condition before shipping out. It plays beautifully. The tuning pegs have been upgraded to Grovers but the original plastic ones are included.  Aside from this the guitar is all original.  The action is low and the bends are smooth.  Though most know the Les Paul for the crisp distorted tones, the bridge pickup with a clean tone sounds divine through a tube amp.  Literally the best sounding guitar I've had the privilege to play thus far.  I spent a great deal of time reading about sought after periods of production in Gibson's history and the late 80's and early 90's were highly regarded.  A veteran buyer, seller, and enthusiast recently advised me to not sell as it would appreciate in the next 10 - 15 years, however I need to make room for my new Stratocaster.  This starting bid is very reasonable and in my opinion is a good investment value.  **Guitar Dater Project Information:        Your guitar was made at the         Nashville Plant, TN, USA        on June 30th, 1989        Production Number: 81--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Condition: The guitar is in very good condition for a vintage instrument, but does show signs of being played.  This guitar has been cared for over the years even though its been played heavily.  There are light scratches, small dings and dents scattered about the instrument all of which are no more then 1-2 mm wide. The most noticeable flaw is a missing piece of the neck pickup plastic 'ring' which surrounds the pickup.   The most prominent dents are on the side of the neck and have been shown as clearly as possible in Picture 10.  They do not inhibit playing.A small circle of wood has chipped off on the base of the neck and is shown in Picture 12. A small white dot is shown in Picture 11.  At the 19th fret where the two piece of wood meet there is a small piece of chipped plastic ~5mm.  The frets and fretboard are in great condition.
The original brown case is included featuring a plush pink interior and a three number combination lock.  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------This guitar is being sold as is with no returns.  I've done my best to include the best version of each photo and ask buyers to bid after thoroughly examining each picture.   I have a lot of additional pictures as well which are available upon request.  Item will be shipped ASAP upon receival of funds.  Prompt payment is expected.  I have been selling on eBay for a long time and take pride in maintaining 100% Feedback.  Any questions are welcome.
