This is an all original 1978 Ibanez Artist Custom 2700 DS. The model was only built for two years. The body is ash and maple. It is a neck-through design with a seven ply maple and walnut neck and smooth tuners. The nut is half brass/half bone, the fretboard is ebony with abalone dot markers, and it has 24 frets (two full octaves). The electronics make this guitar very versatile. It has two Maxon Super 88 humbucker pickups. It also has a three band active EQ which can adjust tone and boost or cut bass, midrange, and treble by up to ±15 db each. The guitar also has two Tri-Sound switches that select humbucker, single coil, and out-of-phase modes for each pickup independently. The Tri-Sound switches work in both the active and passive modes. Together with the volume knob and three position pickup selector, there are hundreds and hundreds of different tonal combinations and possibilities to explore. It comes with what I believe is the original black hard case with green furry interior. The guitar has tons of sustain, smooth action, and great tone. It's excellent for Grateful Dead sounds and unleashing your inner Jerry. This guitar is gorgeous to behold and a joy to play. The guitar is in very good shape. There are a few dings and scratches (see the photos) along with some wear on the gold hardware. It's all original and the electronics all work. No cracks or repairs. Note that some find the vintage Super 88 pickups to be somewhat microphonic. I find this to be a feature rather than a flaw, but your mileage may vary. I have owned this guitar since 1986 but it has not been played often. FEATURES:* Body: Ash Top and Back with Maple Core* Neck: Laminated 7-Piece Maple/Walnut (Neck-thru-Body)* Fingerboard: Ebony (Abalone Dot Inlays)* Frets: 24 Medium Silver Jumbo (a full 2 octaves)* Pickups  - Neck: Ibanez Super-88 Tri-Sound Humbucker  - Bridge: Ibanez Super-88 Tri-Sound Humbucker* Bridge: Gibraltar (6-Adjustable Saddles)* Tailpiece: Gibraltar (Ibanez Engraved Cloud)* Only Made in 1977 and 1978* Ibanez Super-88 Tri-Sound Humbuckers* Tri-Sound Mini-Toggle for Each Pickup Selects:  - Humbucking  - Single Coil  - Reverse-Phased Humbucking* Ibanez 3-Band Active-EQ Tone System (Powered by 9-Volt Battery)* Mini-Toggle Switches EQ Circuit On & Off* 3 Center-Notched Knobs Control High, Mid & Bass (+/- 15db)* Gibraltar Bridge Mounted on Solid Brass Sustain Block* Ibanez Half Bone/Half Brass Nut* Gold-Plated Ibanez "Velve-Tune" Machine Heads* Hardware: Gold* Weight: 10.8-lbs.
