There are reasons why these early 80s Tokai Springy Sounds have become a thing of legend. For the past few years, I've had a thing for Tokai's and I'm happy to have a couple up for sale. These are just excellent guitars and their history is well-known so I won't spend too much time rehashing it. Basically Tokai was making extremely accurate, high quality pre-CBS strat copies (featuring early Dimarzio grey-bottom pickups) and this is one of them. The Springy Sound (among other 'lawsuit' guitars) were the impetus for Fender Vintage Reissues and Fender Japan. It is a fantastic example of a Springy Sound and outside of a changed middle pickup (Fender Custom Shop, Reverse Wound Middle pup, see pics,) it appears to be virtually all original. The neck on this is a dream and they did a great job emulating the feel of a '62 strat with their take on the contours. While some people say this feels EXACTLY like a pre-CBS strat, that's misleading and I wouldn't claim that personally. It's an incredible guitar that's similar to an early strat but respectfully to both guitars---for once and for all, they are their own things. If I had to compare the feel of this guitar, it would be like that of the most high-end Fender Japan Stratocaster of the 80s. If you are a fan of those guitars and the early vintage tributes, you will LOVE this guitar. The sound of it is pure low output, vintage Strat tones! Stevie Ray and Billy Gibbons were both known to play these Springy Sounds---Stevie even used one on the cover of 'Texas Flood'.The physical condition of this Springy Sound is excellent outside of a few small dings/scratches and very light buckle (see pictures.) The finish on this appears to be a thin nitro finish over a Sen body. The burst is absolutely gorgeous---they nailed the look of a vintage Fender sunburst. It's important to note that Sen is not typically used anymore due it to being cost-prohibitive, and players seek these vintage bodies/guitars out alone for their tonal properties. In terms of playing, this thing gets a big thumbs up for not just its natural playability but for how good of condition it is in terms of frets. You are unlikely to find a ST-60 Springy Sound in this kind of shape and with this little fretware.$899 opening bid.  Comes with a padded soft-shell case and a complimentary analog fuzz pedal ($135 value of free stuff.)  :-)REFUNDS AND RETURNS: Due to previous fraudulent claims by a buyer, I do not offer refunds or returns.  eBay's claims process heavily favors the buyer and they do not/will not inspect or investigate items in the case the buyer misrepresents what they receive. I try my best to list the guitars as accurately as possible to avoid any potential issues down the line. Please know what you are buying and if you have any questions, ask them first---I will be more than happy to answer them promptly. If you would like to see more pictures of the guitar, they are available on request. A video test of any guitar listed is also available upon request. Thank you! Here's the feedback from one of my last transactions; if I say it's a great guitar, it's a great guitar: -"THE BEST! Exactly As Described! Best Packing Ever! Great Seller!
