CLASSIC STRAT-STYLE Adhering strictly to the classic body profile of the Strat, the 2017 American Pro model features the customary contours and curves in all the right places. The figure hugging body shape creates an instant feeling of comfortability and familiarity, which is what has drawn so many to this superb guitar. The deep double-cutaway makes it easy to reach the highest of frets with the greatest of ease. The 2017 American Pro Strat is crafted using alder, a tonewood favoured by Fender due to its balanced timbre that adapts well to any musical style. The lightweight feel of alder serves to further enhance playing comfort and adds to the Strats heavenly feel. The body has been coated in a protective layer of gloss urethane to preserve. REDESIGNED NECK PROFILE The elegant feel and playability of a Strat neck is what attracts so many players to the instrument, as well as keeping them coming back for more. Improving upon a classic is not an easy task to undertake, yet the new "Deep C" profile - lying somewhere between a "Modern C" and "U"-shaped profile - manages to achieve this feat, creating a more natural feel in the hand that is perfectly aligned with both chord and single-note playing alike. By employing maple as the neck wood, Fender has stayed true to the Strat's roots, whilst the satin neck finish prevents unwanted tackiness or stickiness from impeding movement across the neck. Paired with the neck is a 22-fret maple fingerboard that bears narrow-tall frets. As the name suggests, these frets are narrower and taller than their medium-jumbo siblings, resulting in improved string bending and chord playing further up the neck with exceptional intonation. TIM SHAW-DESIGNED V-MOD PICKUPS As mentioned above, the 2017 American Pro Strat is fitted with newly designed V-Mod pickups. The unique engineering behind them using a proprietary blend of alnico magnet types for the neck and middle pickups. Each one of the single-coils has been voiced specifically for its corresponding position (i.e. neck/middle/bridge) to ensure absolute clarity from each one. Whatever style of music you're tackling, and whatever your playing style, the new V-Mod pickups respond beautifully every time. Control comes in the form of a five-way pickup selector switch that allows each pickup to be selected individually, or create neck/middle and middle/bridge combinations for a richer tonal output. There is a master volume pot with a treble bleed circuit that upholds high end tone when the volume is rolled back. This prevents muddiness of tone, preserving the rich clarity of the higher notes whilst allowing you to dial back the output gain of your pickups for improved tone control. GIG-READY HARDWARE The body carries the 2-point synchronised tremolo with pop-in arm, which creates a seamless connection between the strings and body for optimised intonation and sustain, as well as smooth vibrato control. The pop-in arm remains securely in position, regardless of how aggressive your playing style is. The arm tension can be attenuated to suit your playing preference.
