Description Brand: Olds Leadpipe Material: brass Bell Material: Brass Key: Bb Finish: Silver-Plated Skill Level: Professional Valve Material: Nickel Plated Model: Super
This is a 1942 Los Angeles Olds Super that has been restored in a two-tone satin and polished silver that was common for this era. Although most Supers of this era were silver (likely military issue) this was originally a lacquer horn. It was acquired about 10 years ago from Eric Hamlin of Olds Register fame after it had been restored and has been played sparingly since that time. According to Eric, the restoration was done by Karl Klassen. The finish is flawless and the valves have been replated, so this horn is in like new playing condition. This trumpet clean inside and out. All slides are smooth. Engraving is sharp and clear.Olds serial numbers of this era are a bit of a mystery, and it is unclear what level of production Olds had during the war, but this horn has the "pre-war" features of a brace on the tuning slide and the unusual stop rod mechanism on the third valve slide. Comes with original case, lyre, Olds 3 mouthpiece and warranty card. FEATURES:
Satin silver finish with polished silver slides
Nickel plated valves
Third valve slide dump end
Lightweight body and bell
Bore: .460" Medium-Large Bore
Matching serial numbers on all valve pistons, slides, top caps and valve stems
