This is a 2016 D*A*M built Sola Sound Tone Bender Professional MKII. This version being slightly different to the standard model that I produce for Sola Sound being that it features a 'DAM' silk screen overprint done in the style of the original Vox Tone Bender Professional MKII that Sola Sound produced for Vox in the mid to late 1960's. This is 2 of 2 Tone Bender units produced in this manner with the DAM/Vox overprint. Circuit construction features vintage Iskra and Wima capacitors with the use of Philips/Mullard OC75 transistors, new stock resistors and electrolytic capacitors are used are used for accuracy and longevity of tone. Tonally this is a fuzz box with a high gain output. It is not an all out screamer by any means but has more than ample sustain and saturation with the Attack control wide open. It has an even degree of control over the available fuzz and sustain from the Attack dial with a broad range of usable distortion. The overall fuzz tone is relatively smooth with a full-bodied dynamic response, offering a high degree of interaction with the guitars controls whilst having subtle musical artifacts and a pleasing note decay. The broad degree of distortion and gain available means this pedal will function equally well with either a small clean tone amplifier or one of greater wattage and power output. This is a finely tuned vintage voiced fuzz box that has the benefits of modern day reliability. Although the pedal is numbered 2 of 2 on the back plate I've maintained the Sola Sound serial numbering, as in 180616626 - the 626th Tone Bender I have made for Sola Sound with the final construction taking place on the 18th June 2016. Please note this pedal will come supplied with a five year guarantee and is supplied in D*A*M and not Sola Sound packaging being as it is a direct sale from ourselves.
