For sale: (2) Modified Auteurs.These (2) Auteurs were modified by Black Lion’s Matt Newport.He designed a new circuit with Burson discrete op-amps. Since the new circuit is a 1/8“ above where the “lids” attach, I was told the tops of the units would not fit after the mod. The pre will work in the 1st space of any rack that has a hair (1/8th")of space above the rack rail. These preamps do not have chassis tops.I’m selling these (2) Units, i.e (4) Channels of Modified Preamps, I will not separate these.Things to note:Post Mod, These preamp’s gains max out at 40db and are very quiet at 40db.Pad, Phase Flip, and 48v all work normally.It became a favorite for me for vocals, drum overheads and guitar amps.Active ribbons are great on it, passive ribbons are fine if the source is not too quiet.I also had great results with this and Countryman DI for bass guitar.The pre is very open and smooth sounding, and has lots of space in its midrange.It is a bigger and less mid-rangy sound than the stock version.Free Shipping is included to 48 States.
