Yamaha based CC four Valve Tuba This is a custom-built conversion of a Yamaha BBb tuba into a CC tuba. The conversion was done by the seller, who is a professional brass repairer and instrument builder. It involved reducing the overall length of the tuba from 18ft long to 16ft and reducing slide lengths by one ninth. This process involved utilizing some tubing from other instruments but in essence the tuba is primarily Yamaha. The resultant instrument is very responsive to play and is in tune. If you do not believe this, come and try it. Cosmetically the tuba has had a brushed satin finish with a clear 2k lacquer making it attractive in appearance. During the course of the conversion major dents were removed but some minor ones still exist but do not affect the playability. A case is available but would need repair in terms of catches handles etc. and also internal padding to suite the CC version. New wheels were fitted as part of the case repair procedure. An appropriate mouthpiece will be supplied. All slides pull and valves are in playing order. Albeit a conversion it is an ideal opportunity to acquire a four valve CC tuba at a reasonable price without having to buy Chinese. The item {because of its size} is listed as pick up only but it could be packaged to be picked up by the purchaser’s courier or alternatively the seller is prepared to travel a reasonable distance to meet a prospective buyer.
