Selling this beautiful pre-war Los Angeles F.E. OLDS & SON SUPER trumpet, four-digit serial number 82XX, made circa 1939-40.  THIS HORN IS A PLAYER! I've owned many classic Olds horns and this Super is by far the best one I've encountered. I'd love to keep it but have to pay some bills.  Fantastic intonation, easy slotting, a very even scale, and a full, rich tone that can be warm and smoky when played soft, and fat and powerful when you lean into it. The Super was marketed as a symphonic horn in those days (with traits borrowed from the design of French horns), but this is perfect for any jazz solo and big band playing as well. I’ve played it a bit in a community band and it blends very well with conventional/modern horns. This Super is complete with nickel tone ring, nickel trim throughout, adjustable first and third slide finger hooks, third slide stop rod assembly (a modern replacement), trombone-style waterkey levers on main and third slides. Brand new valve springs, felts, and synthetic waterkey pads. Includes a Vincent Bach Corp 7 mouthpiece that came with the horn. I have the original leather covered Lifton case in decent condition, and will include it if desired, for the cost of shipping separately.  It has had some minor dent work and the original lacquer has been chemically stripped to raw brass. There are a few pings and scratches, general wear, and some old plier marks on the bottom caps, but everything screws/unscrews perfectly. Valves still have at least 95% of their original plating with just a few worn spots. Valve action is very fast, compression is excellent and slides pop nicely when pulled. The 3rd valve dump slide is stuck, but it’s not really necessary with the waterkey on that slide.  Free USPS shipping in the USA. International buyers use the eBay global shipping program. Happy to answer any questions. Thanks for looking.
