This is - quite simply - a fantastic instrument from Yamaha's Custom range. These were produced in Japan between 1981 & 1982 and aimed at the professional player. The reverse lead-pipe and brace-free tuning slide make it a very free blowing horn with a lively, bright and resonant sound.This Bb trumpet was used by a professional player from new right up to his recent retirement and with the exception of evidence of an historic bell repair, it bears no more than the usual battle scars (see images). Plus it's a Yamaha and they're made to last so there's no worries about wear or ill fitting parts.
