A very fine French violin made by Nicolas Augustin Chappuy in 1773, as indicated on the original label, certified by the French leading expert J.J. Rampal in Paris. This violin is a rare, outstanding, 1st class example of a personal and most beautiful work of the maker. The instrument is near perfect condition with all original fantastic quality/texture varnish in place. The sound is of a charming character with depth, power and projection (all together) similar to the great Italian contemporaries of this maker.
This instrument is highly recommended to a demanding musician seeking a solo level instrument at a modest price that is comparable to fine old Italian violins. The length over the back is 35.85 cm. Please read
