You are looking at a very beautiful 1950s American DR-332 microphone. It has a brand new 1.8 micron ribbon. In addition to a ribbon element this model also had a dynamic element, however, you really don't want the dynamic element in the signal path. The sound, as described on the Coutant.org website: The aluminum diaphragm dynamic element has a pronounced “squawk,” i.e., broad midrange peak, to its nature,...so, I removed the dynamic element from the circuit altogether and now this mic sounds really nice! This is a beautiful ribbon mic that sounds better than new.Another great thing about this mic is that it contains two transformers. The copper wire in the windings of both transformers is notably fatter than that of modern ribbon mics, plus the second transformer allows you to chose from three different impedances by setting jumpers underneath the front name-plate. Low 50 ohms, Medium 250 ohms (mic is set at 250 right now) and the third setting is Hi-Z. Let me know if you desire one of the other impedances and I will change it for you before shipping. The cosmetic condition of this mic is very good with some small scratches and minor wear visible upon close inspection, but the original anodized aluminum finish still looks nice. This mic works well and would be a great asset for any studio owner who has an affinity for vintage ribbon microphones.Mic stand is not included.
