Here is an Altec 436C tube compressor. All tubes are NOS American types. Signal caps have been replaced with Sozo blue caps. Power supply caps are in good shape. The mods are basically very similar to the famous"EMI" mods. they are:1. Gain mod-lowers the excessive gain.2. Output level control-making it easier to set levels into your DAW or other processing once the compression is set.3. Attack "Fast" switch-allows the faster attack option, over the stock fixed setting.4. Release circuit mods with wider range of release.5. Line amp switch-disables compression and serves as a tube line amp with input and output controls for adding warmth or crunching a signal.These mods make a more versatile and easy to use compressor.XLR pigtails are included. A male IEC power cord comes out of the 436 and you use an ordinary IEC cable to connect to a grounded outlet.I have modded many Altec 436 and 438 compressors and this is the latest one, enjoy!
