Hello everybody, For sale is the Sequential Circuits Six-Trak, a rare CEM3394 VCO synthesizer manufactured by Sequential Circuits in 1984. It is notable for being one of the first multi-timbral synthesizers, equipped with MIDI (CC) and an on-board six-track sequencer, hence the name. The Sequential Six-Trak turns out to be a brilliant musical instrument. Despite its small size, it is capable of stunning, great, modular-like, powerful electronic sounds. It offers 100 memories (factory presets by John Bowen), its keyboard action is very pleasant (a billion times better than any Pro-One keyboard), it has 6 voices and is multi-timbral. Its vast sound architecture sports 3 (!) fully equipped envelopes, filter-FM, and much more. And… the Six-Trak has MIDI with CC !! Each of the instrument’s six voices contains: a VCO (saw, pulse with PWM, and triangle) – all waveforms may be freely combined and used simultaneouslyan LFO (saw and pulse wave)a 24 dB lowpass VCFa VCA3 ADSR envelopes (for OSC, VCF and VCA)Apart from its respectable sound architecture, the Six-Trak offers some other goodies such as an 800-note multi-timbral sequencer and a simple (and useful) arpeggiator. Both, the sequencer and the arpeggiator may be synched by MIDI clock (although – rumour has it – only by Sequential drum machines). Also, there are tons of performance tools, such as glide, polyphonic portamento, voice assign mode, unison mode, and the great stack mode. The latter allows for stacking up to six sounds and firing them up by hitting one key. The Six-Trak is a six-voice multi-timbral synth with a maximum of six sounds at a time. Using six different sounds simultaneously limits you to monophonic playing.
* Cosmetically: Instrument used in pet free home studio and it is in good condition. I have attached a lot of pictures to see exactly how it looks. ** Technically: Recently maintained and upgraded by a professional synth engineer: power supply (220V) electrolytic/tantalum capacitors and regulators are replaced all voice board electrolytic/tantalum capacitors are also replaced ROM has been upgraded to the latest version 14.0 (mainly fixes various midi bugs and introduces Unison detune feature) new Z-80 CPU is installed in socket internal boards, rubbers, sliders and keyboard contacts are cleaned most of the ICs are socketed (for easier future maintenance) the instrument & wheel are fully calibrated/tuned original factory presets are reloaded printed copy (from PDF) of owners manual is included
