A good antique german violin made circa 1920.Good antique german violin made after Stradivarius circa 1920. The top is made of two parts of spruce and shows regular grain lines slightly widening towards the edges. The back is made of two pieces of very nicely flamed maple, the curl horizontal. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood. The is of an orange-brown color on a golden ground, and entirely original. The work is very decent, the violin was made in copy at the time and antiqued accordingly, which gives it with the time a wonderful patina and look.The violin is in an excellent condition, with just a tiny 1 cm repair at lower right f hole. On the inside back can be found the label of "Antonius Stradivarius Cremonensis faciebat anno 1719 AS".The violin has been entirely revised and set-up, including a new rosewood tailpiece with ebony fret, a set of rosewood pegs, a rosewood chinrest, a Despiau bridge and Thomastik Dominant new strings set.The sound is powerful, warm, projective and the instrument is easy to play and responsive, a really good german concert violin that you will love.Dimensions are the following :LOB : 362 mm.Upper bouts : 165 mm.Middle bouts : 112 mm.Lower bouts : 206 mm.The instrument comes with a new rectangular case.
