Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass Custom Shop Limited Edition   The Jack Casady Signature Bass was designed by Casady in collaboration with Epiphone and is the culmination of years of experimentation by the Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna bassist to find an instrument with superb, balanced electric tone and the response of an acoustic bass.  All I can say is "Mission Accomplished". The Jack Casady features a maple body with a maple top.  The hand-set mahogany neck has a 34" scale with a rosewood 12" radius fingerboard, a 1.62" nut, and Jack's signature on the headstock. "I went to work on the pickup and it took almost two years to develop" says Casady.  The result is a JCB-1 low impedance, low output pickup that employs a three-postion transformer to shape the frequency response.  "They blow the old Gibson's to smithereens, even in the construction," says Casady.  "The workmanship that's coming in on these instruments is just super." The Casady features nickel hardware, classic style tuners, and a 3-point adjustable bridge exactly like the hall of famer uses on stage.  Casady insisted that his own personal basses should be no different that any Jack Casady Signature that you find in a store.  "I have none that are set up a special way or anything like that and they are great," says Casady. When I played it I came away saying that this bass is truly amazing.  The difference between the pickup in this bass and those in other bass guitars make all the difference in the world.  If you want a truly unique, special bass, get the Jack Casady Signature.
What was refurbished on this bass?
There is a small area of pitting on the bridge.  I have included a picture showing how minor it is.  There were no other issues found with this bass, all that was done was a set up. **The pictures are the actual bass that you will receive** Here is how much cash you will save!

These are a few frequently asked questions.  For a lot more information on my products click on the video tab. Why are instruments sent to a refurbisher?  There are several reasons, the item may be an over stock, the model may be discontinued, there may be a minor finish blemish, or a minor repair may be needed. Who refurbishes the instruments? All refurbishing is done by factory authorized luthiers at my supplier in Nashville. Does a refurbished instrument still have the manufacturer warranty?  Any instrument sent to a refurbisher no longer carries the factory warranty. Is a refurbished instrument as good as a new one?  Yes, all instruments from my supplier have gone through extensive testing, which many of the new instruments could not pass without receiving further adjustments.  You are getting a like new instrument for the price of a used instrument.
