This is a nice Gibson A-50 style Mandolin. Plays with a wonderful rich sound. We've researched and believe it is from 1939. The back of the neck is stamped EG-2582. This makes sense as the sole player of this instrument was born in 1908, my friend's father. It has "Gibson" in pearl script at the neck top. It doesn't show hard play. It has a 2"crack next to the tailpiece on the front. I don't see any repairs to the body. Never broken. Original tuners and pegs. It has no back shrinkage. The neck joint is solid and secure. There is no label I can find. The neck is straight and the back and sides are crack free and clean. There's a little light scratches on the high point on the back. The frets are worn with shallow fret wear. The pick guard has cracking, but is solid. It will ship in the original good condition hard case with the key, and with 8 bagged Gibson strings and 2 picks, 1 may be a Gibson pick, but I'm not sure. Please ask questions about anything and I will promptly reply.
