I’ve played a lot of Kaspars, but never one like this! All other Kaspars I’ve played are either 1-3 lines (Chedeville or Babbit, in the case of the Cicero Frank) or 1-2 lines (probably Chedeville Lelandais). This one resonates like no other I’ve tried! The window inside is tight but comfortable – both to those use to more restrictive Kaspar windows and to modern pieces like an M15. The tip is close (look at pictures) and the rails are thinner. Also features some rollover concavity I’ve not seen in most Kaspar pieces. As I said, this piece projects and resonates like no other. Even compared to other Kaspars and Chedevilles this thing can sing/cut through! Still with the dark characteristic Kaspar sound and voicing. Also of note is no “Superb” or “Star” typically associated with Frank L.’s pieces. I’ve never seen that before either! And I got this from someone IN Ann Arbor. This is truly a unique piece in clarinet history.
