The globe versions of the Sovereign remains the most popular and represents the high water mark in production quality at the factory. This particular model remains in good condition for the age and plays strongly.  Serial Number - 662038 - built in 1980It is supplied in a used Besson case, but not the original. Should you want us to upgrade the hard case to a brand new (Besson) case - as supplied with the current Sovereign - the additional cost would be £325 (they are normally £425).There is no mouthpiece supplied, but we can supply anything you select from the Wick or Bach ranges. A mouthpiece costs around £60, and we can make a suggestion if you require assistance.The showroom price for this instrument is £3,200, and can be tested in our Beaconsfield showroom, or sent on approval; contact us for more details. Condition Description As with all of our instruments, the euphonium has been serviced and tested by our brass technician to ensure that it is fully functional and plays well. The action of the valves and slides is smooth and quiet. During the refurbishment we decided to retain the original metal guides; whilst noisier than the modern nylon guide, they are more reliable.  PistonsThe pistons are in good order and have cleaned up well in the workshop. The value of the work we completed is £330, so you will not need to spend any money on further servicing for a long time, especially if you keep it clean internally. The top and bottom caps fit well.Silver PlateWe are sure the instrument has been re-plated in the last 15 years, as the plate is in such good condition. There is only one small patch of exposed brass (on the 1st branch, near the 3rd valve casing). You will find lots of small scratches and imperfections, tiny dings and marks, but nothing notable. Tuning SlidesThe tuning slide inner legs have been machine cleaned and fitted expertly.Bell/Mouth-pipeThe bell is in good order and has kept its shape and the globe logo remains sharp. The mouth-pipe is in good order and neatly tacked to the bell and without rot.The lyre box is functional, and with lyre box screw. The water keys are serviced and with new pads. Hard CaseThe case is structurally solid, but with only two of the three hinges working and with some scuffs, marks and peeling of the covering material. The euphonium deserves a better case than this, but it may be you have your own case or wish to transport it in a gig bag.Returns/WarrantyIf on initial inspection you are disappointed in any way, you may return it and receive a full refund. You are most welcome to visit and test the instrument in our playing room prior to making a commitment.We will offer the instrument with a full mechanical warranty for 12 months but only a limited cosmetic warranty.
