Thank you for taking a peek at this EP-3. On "another" website these red face are listed as "rarest of the rare". If you're here I'm sure you're well aware of this piece. It's a very rare 1971 Maestro Echoplex EP-3 Red Face. These are a limited edition and were made in a small batch of 400. Two versions of this model were made. Mine is the earlier smooth black plastic cover version (not the red), and cover SN 95XX. If your looking for the ultimate package in an EP-3, (beautiful sound, rare, and immaculate condition), look no further. This might be the perfect EP-3 for you.
Regardless how an EP-3 looks, sound is the more important factor. I service these one at a time, use premium components and virtually beat the hell out of a unit after serviced for extended periods of time. I attempt to make them falter and break. This unit has been tested and won't fail. I use special tape that's been deemed the best sounding tape by both myself and clients. Clearer signal , cleaner echoes and more echo repeats per note and less echo decay. In addition, you'll see flawless tape flow that leaves less the tape prone to jamming, high output with less noise and if worried about tape availability, i have a supply to last a very long time.
The housing bottom and top numbers are correct . Both read 7 so rest assured this is a genuine and not a "parts unit". Additional benefits: Plywood body, earlier motor, stitched top, tri color trumpet logo, super clean, has all major original factory components, and including the coveted factory footswitch. This has a powerful preamp and delivers lots of mojo that pedals will never match. This is the era of EP-3 that has been used by so many artists and studios it would be hard to keep tally of how many hit songs were made with this era of EP-3. To be fair to the buyer and myself please know that these are not delay pedals. These require routine minor maintenance even after receiving a tech's overhaul. I am here after the sale to ensure "accidents" have little chance of happening. I can assist the initial powering on to help achieve a proper set up so that on the first use and so we'll get it locked in for "power up and play" until the next routine maintenance is needed. I also will take time over the phone with the buyer to discuss everything EP-3 and go over operational use, the little buggers that create huge problems and how to avoid them. Basics on care, do's and don'ts and any other information the buyer may require.
This listing consists of the Echoplex, 1 cartridge, 1 factory Footswitch, extra felt pads and arms and a Husky tool bag for transporting and protecting the Echoplex when not using and when transporting (the handles always break over time. After these hit the deck from a snapped handle, i know where to get more. The handle is last thing to worry about if it breaks and unit drops. . The circuit, mechanics and housing are. They can all suffer nasty damage if it hits the deck even at a 1 foot fall. This is a vintage item that works flawlessly, it's been meticulously serviced and guaranteed not DOA. Free shipping to the 48 continental USA States . No sales outside the USA and no sales to zero feedback and under 97% feedback buyers. If you fall in this category and want to purchase it please contact me to see if we can agree on selling terms. This is collector grade and is easily a coveted conversation piece. If you buy this you may be the only person you know with one. They are not going down in value. This is vintage gear and sold as is with no returns. I have 100% feedback and rave reviews on the tape winds I sell.
