1969 King Silver Sonic cornetYou probably already know this, but this is THE jazz cornet. King first made this model in 1916 and they were in production for more than 60 years! With some modifications now and then, of course, and the most important tweak was the option to have a sterling silver bell. This cornet is one of them; it is a Master Silver Sonic and it has the world famous King Silver Sonic Bell. How does it sound? Well, the best way to find out is to go to Youtube, type "1969 Cannonball Adderley" and there you have a list of songs. May I suggest listening to "Humming" first where Nat Adderley's solo on his King Silver Sonic is... Well, I love it! You buy this horn, then you have the tool and the rest is up to you... Anyway, in 1971 King wrote in an advert that I have that  "... Sterling Silver Bells add an incredible warmth and richness to the sound /.../ the tonal quality is darker, fuller /.../ more responsive".The talk is over, now the condition: in short, great playing condition, but the looks are a bit rough. Valves and slides work fine, good compression, no signs of red rot. Scratches, yes, some unevenness to the brass, yes, but no dents. Lacquer is worn and so is the gold wash in the bell. As I said, great playing condition, but not the most pleasing aesthetics. But if the looks were there too, well, then the price had been different.Ready to play and the original case is included as well as a Schilke mouthpiece size 15. Free worldwide shipping.
