This auction is for an Selmer model 104 Oboe in nice condition. This instrument is a fabulous intermediate instrument that will last a student of the oboe for many years before moving up to a professional instrument. This is a resin instrument, and will not crack like wooden models, which is piece of mind if this instrument ever goes outside for marching season or you live in a humid, hot, or cold climate. The model 104 has many alternate keys that the other student model instruments do not have, including the LEFT F, split Eb ring and low Bb, only available on the higher end models. This makes it a great choice for the advancing oboist, and is more than suitable for a student playing through the high school level. Selmer oboes are known for their high quality and simplicity. This particular instrument is in good cosmetic and excellent playing playing condition. The Keywork is in nice condition, but has a lot of stubborn tarnishing that we were unable to remove. The Instrument body has scratching in several places, but looks good overall. It has the fullest keywork set that is available on the selmer instruments, and is perfectly appropriate through the high school level of play. It plays beautifully and easily.
