Description Type: Fog Machine type 1963 Power: 120V Brand: Mole Richardson Fogmaker Country of Manufacture: United States Model: Type 1961 Kit, Type 1963 Mole effect Fog Maker
Vintage Mole Fogger and Case - great for film Museum, Display or for use as a Fog Machine This Mole fogger kit has been in storage for around twenty five years. Having three Mole foggers already, I wanted to keep this one pristine along with a new cobweb machine I obtained at the same time. (see other items for sale) These foggers were first built as insecticide fog machines by Spray Distributors, Inc.. They were called Made Well foggers. Mole Richardson bought out the company and converted them for use as fog/smoke machines for the film industry. This particular machine has never been converted. (Drilling a hole between the two fluid chambers to combine them). It is completely original. For many years Mole Foggers were the most widely used smoke machine in the Special Effects Industry. It is so much of an Icon that you can see it used in an early scene from The Body Guard when Kevin Costner first walks in to meet Whitney Houston while she is shooting a music video. With all the smoke machines now on the market, you can still find a Mole fogger in the kit of most Special effects people. They don't have all the electronic gadgets as the new foggers, just a reliable smoke machine when needed. I would call it NOS (New old stock) since I was told it was never used and it looked it. It is also an early model with the three digit serial number and no modification as a smoke machine as we know it. Since it sat for so long, I added distilled water in the machine to test it. The light came on and shut off after heating. It sprayed the distilled water as a vapor. Check on the available fluids for this machine. They work great if you use the right fluid, they don't if you use the wrong fluid. I will include all the scent and cleaning bottles, not the insecticide. I will empty all the fluids since I don't know if any of them would have become bad to breath or toxic after sitting so long. Please call Mole Richardson for any of these fluids if they are available and if you think you want them. It is missing the dry Ice Basket. I believe It is still available to buy from Mole Richardson, please check. * A Mole Fogger kit sells for $2400 from Mole Richardson. The case looks somewhat aged from sitting in storage so long, but is in excellent structural shape. I did not want to clean it or change anything that might effects its vintage value. Mole Richardson sells the case alone for $500.00 Also, visit Mole Richardson web site. (see below) They have been a pioneer in the lighting and entertainment industry. *Please do your research on this machine. Ask any questions you may have. This is not a returnable item.
