Rare Vintage Gretsch Acoustic Catseye Syncromatic Model 300
VERY CLEAN. VINTAGE Archtop From the Fred Gretsch Co.
Original Finish • No damage. All orig. STRAIGHT NECK! See guitar pictures, it's amazing, Tone sounds like a deeper Martin "D-28"series tone.
... the tone is Low and rich boomy low end ....but also bright, high treble tones too.
Built when Guitars were made to last a lifetime. These rare clean original finish & un-abused gretsch catseyes have amazing tone due to the solid spruce wood absurd amazing tone.
Breathtaking Finish ALL ORIGINAL very Clean, see pics. A nice, rare, unusually nice Gretsch. Two owners. Original owner TOOK GREAT CARE OF THIS. MOTHER OR PEARL INLAYS in NECK!
A BOUND NECK means this is the VERY VERY RARE 1940's or 1950's SYNCROMATIC 300. Bound neck and soundholes, AND TOP, AND BACK AND SIDES...Oh and they bound the PICKGUARD. Its most likely a rare model 300. (or 400?) Rare harp tailpiece is gold. Gibson didn't even bind their guards, Nor did Guild. This is special.
This Syncromatic 300 HAS BINDING EVERYWHERE, a.great item! ---- Has a GOLD "HARP" TAILPIECE, not standard type.
(approx.) 55 to 65 years old DEEPER arched BODY FOR PROJECTED TONE, in a orchestra setting. A FULL 3.5" DEEP and 17" ACROSS. 17" WIDE (Lower bout of top) solid spruce. WOOD HAS a very nice, old growth lumber tight GRAIN. See Photos! AGE. This could technically be as early as 1949 but we do not know the exact year. Not stamped like a traditional newer Gretsch, these high end Gretsch's are all specialty guitars. We believe it to be 1940's thru 1950's, but actual year unknown due to Gretsch records being destroyed in a fire. VERY VERY VERY RARE TRANSLUCENT GUARD. these deteriorated, due to the NITRO Glycerine in the Nitro Cellulose paint. Oh, and then they bound the guard. That BINDING AROUND A PICKGUARD isn't common, even today with much better technology. Overall the finish is nice, the binding has a very slight lift by guard side, But the pickguard bracket holds it in place. In alst photo upper left see some very slight space, I zoomed in so it really isn't even noticeable in person. Has a standard end pin, as Gretsch's knurled didn't exist yet, and were not traditionally used on acoustics. INLAID NAME AND MODEL ON HEADSTOCK BY HAND! LOOK AT THESE PHOTOS.!!! Hand Carved ART DECO bridge, original top, original threaded stems The suntan shows that THIS BRIDGE has been with THIS GUITAR all during its life. (not a rebuilt guitar, its original) THIS GUITAR WAS LIGHTLY Used OR maybe BARELY USED is more accurate,
- BUT I T W A S N E V E R A B U S E D THAT IS RARE!We obtain the RARE, HARDER TO FIND, COOLEST, AND MORE INSANELY CLEAN INSTRUMENTS, Compared to other dealers...
BOOKMARK US. : ) This guitar IS VERY CLEAN For its age ... and has been looked over and tuned up by a professional luthier. WE CARE. WE will PACK THIS Welk! Our Feedback is good cause we are fair sellers with accurate descriptions. -------- TERMS: usa shipping 97.43 - Canada 2
