Schreiber Student Oboe (used instrument) Product Description This instrument is around 25 years old (estimate) and is showing signs of age (cosmetic wear on the key-work), but the pads have been replaced and so it would remain an economical student instrument. It has a closed hole/thumb-plate system which is what the teachers request for beginners. In store we always recommend the Buffet or Howarth models, but they are £1,200 to £1,500.For local customers please talk to us about our buy back scheme we operate via the showroom (on all new and used instruments). The action of the key-work is generally smooth, quiet and accurate. As new pads have been fitted and seated the instrument will play well and have a long life. Cosmetically, the instrument is fair. The metalwork is generally dull, and some of the keys show exposed brass from long-term wear. The body is almost unmarked, aside from a small flaw in the wood near the top of the instrument. The case is fully functional, but scuffed at the corners and scratched at the clasps.Returns/WarrantyIf on initial inspection you are disappointed in any way, you may return it and receive a full refund. You are most welcome to visit and test the instrument in our playing room prior to making a commitment.We will offer the instrument with a full mechanical warranty for 12 months but only a limited cosmetic warranty. The cosmetic warranty is limited to significant issues. DeliveryInland UK shipping: FREEThe instrument will be well packed and shipped by next-day Interlink courier. The package will require a signature, so before we send it we will contact you to establish a convenient day for the delivery. We will also request a phone number to assist the local delivery driver, and/or a mobile number so you will receive an SMS notification of the approximate delivery time on the day of the delivery. We will also post a consignment number via eBay so you can track your package online. It was founded by Trevor Austin (father of Paul) who was previously a euphonium player in the Horse Guards (and played on horseback at the Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953). Following long service in the Salvation Army as a player and conductor, his reputation led to requests to supply instruments around the UK and overseas. Rosehill is now led by Trevor’s son Paul. The company was awarded a UK government contract in 1999, and since then has been an approved supplier of musical instruments to Her Majesty’s military bands. We also repair, refurbish and service all brass band and military band instruments at our workshops in Beaconsfield. As well as drawing customers from all over the UK, we also supply many instruments to bands and players overseas.
