This Stand up Bass was owned by Grandpa Jones and Romona Jones in 1982 and was played on the Granda Jones Dinner Theater and the Grand Ole Opry and for appearances around Nashville. I purchased this Bass from a dealer In 2001 that bought it from Romona Jones after Grandpa Jones passed away. Along with the upright bass is a hand written letter from Romona Jones on her personalized stationary talking about when Grandpa Jones and Romona Jones purchased the upright bass and where it was played. This bass is an important part of the history of Grandpa Jones and his legacy on the Grand Ole Opry and in county music. It represents a time when music was exciting and full of true entertainment!
