• 1925Steiaway'--Model XR6 2" GrandThis piano is a rarity amongst the selection of historical Steinway models available today. Steinway, made several piano models from 1909 to 1931 for the Aeolian, Weber Piano & Pianola Co. of New York, specially, modified with lengthened cabinets to accommodate a pneumatic player system, called Duo Art Reproducing Pianos. Many of these old player systems eventually wore out and broke down, and when the pianos were rebuilt, rebuilders would remove all the components of the old player system and turn the piano into a normal piano. This is one such piano, a modified version of the best-selling Model M with the same stringing scale. The old pneumatic player system in this piano has long since been removed, and at the same time it was completely rebuilt with a new pinblock, strings, tuning pins, hammers, hammer shanks, hammer flanges, damper felts, and keytops. The piano has also been refinished in a light-stained brown mahogany. We have regulated the action in this piano so that it plays like any other, piano, and it is as solidly built as any Steinway grand piano from Steinway's Golden Age.
