Hi Folks, Did you know the headstock inlay on the A3 was unique to that model. I believe it was used on a few other special runs later in time, but is very unique and beautiful. For sale is my wonderful pumpkin top Gibson A3. I believe it is a 1917. It is in very nice shape with no cracks, separations or shrinkage of the top. The neck joint is solid and the neck is straight. Setup and ready to play. This beautiful vintage mandolin is all original except for missing the pickguard and bracket. It has the original tuners, original frets with very little wear, original bridge in great shape and original tail piece. It is very clean with just some small scratches from fingers while playing and a few marks from age. The finish is in nice shape with very little checking. Really in very nice condition. Comes with original case with working latches and original handle. The case is in very good shape as well. The sound is strong and clear with fantastic intonation all over the neck. It sounds really nice with lots of sustain and sweet vintage tone. It plays well with medium or light strings and just sounds great. This is a wonderful example of the famous teens Gibson A3. Plays great and sound beautiful. I am only selling because I put a down payment on a custom built mandolin and I have to sell some instruments to be able to pay for the custom. So grab this one which is priced to sell and is completely ready to play, enjoy, and show off to your friends. I love the old pumpkin tops from years a natural tanning.
