Back Length (excluding Button) - 357mm Sounding string length - 333mm Label: Jacob Petz Geigenmacher in Fils im Tyrol 1796 DESCRIPTION *Please note that payment should be made within 48 hours or the instrument will be re-listed* Hi and welcome to this auction for this interesting antique Austrian violin made by and labelled Jacob Petz (1796). There are no open cracks, seams, loose linings or corners etc, and no cracks to the back or sides. The table has been extensively restored at some point in its life, and the instrument is currently in a good structural, cosmetic and playing condition. There has been some varnish retouch, and a small insert to the table beneath the tailpiece. The neck and scroll may or may not be original, it would appear that the instrument has been set up for baroque playing, and subsequently a wedge has been added, and the neck has never been mortised into the body. A nice violin for the collector or violinist, including a good quality used hard case. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask, I aim to get back to you quickly. SHIPPING UK - FREE Express US - £45 Express EU - £35 Standard China - £75 Standard Canada, Russia, Brazil – please enquire I can ship elsewhere, but please contact me with your zipcode for a shipping quote to your country prior to bidding/offering.
