Up for sale is a Magnatone model 250 guitar amp built in 1959. The 250 was a short-lived model, introduced in 1959 or 1960 and gone by 1961. It's similar in features to the more common 213 or 213A, but with slightly higher output (courtesy of a pair of 6973 power tubes) and a bright switch for the high-gain channel. Like the 213 series, it features a 12" Oxford speaker and a genuine pitch-shifting vibrato effect. The amp has clear, sparkling cleans most of the way up the volume knob, but it does overdrive nicely when cranked all the way up.The amp is in excellent condition; everything works as it should, all the major components are original (including the speaker and transformers), and there is just some light cosmetic wear all around. It comes with the original footswitch. This amp was serviced ten years ago, including replacement of some capacitors.
