Guyatone 'Surf Rider' Victoria ORIGINAL (Zenon Zim-Gar Teisco Del Ray) 60s Retro style Electric GuitarWow.Lots of brushed metal, three single pole pickups, vibrato (missing bar), neat switches, nice neck, swoopy body and styling.This guitar probably started out in a high school band catching a wave, got knocked around a bit, then was put back in the case for 50 years!I believe all hardware and electronics are original here. The red knob must be for sure! It kills all sound with an Off setting, then there is Low, Mix, and High. It works correctly when the nearby slide Solo and Rhythm switch is set to Rhythm. When set to Solo there is no change to the tone. The volume knob works, the tone knob is binding. Good clear sound from pickups.
The neck is a tad narrower and thicker than modern guitars of this type. Thin frets and the metal have some oxidation but are not worn much at all. Nice matt versus polished effect of the metals. Chrome I think under the volume and tone knobs. Neck looks straight with medium action. Check out the neck plate which ties back into the body.Guitar needs intonation (cool bridge) and just a bit of polish and some electrical fixing but is a great example of an almost art deco look that is not over the top.Sunburst body very nice, no cracks. Chips and scratches here and there.This is definitely collectible and extremely rare to find.Check out my other gear at shop at top right corner. Ships out in one or two days after payment received.
