This sale is for a pair of TCM 218-3, dual 18" Studio Monitors set up in Tri-amp only mode. Each enclosure houses a pair of JBL 2245, 8 ohm, 18" woofers, a single, brand new 8 ohm Faitalpro FH12530 12" Mid-bass speaker and a 16 ohm TAD 4002 4" compression driver on a 100 x 100 degree high frequency horn. The Faitalpro 12FH530 12" mid-bass component is an amazing device. It boasts a sensitivity of 98 dB, 1 watt, 1 meter with a power handling rating of 500 watts RMS while maintaining ruler flat frequency response in its operating bandwidth. The TAD 4002 compression drivers utilize the original 4" vapor deposit beryllium diaphragms with 1.5" exits, which couple perfectly to the 100 by 100 degree biradial high frequency horns. There are three terminal cups on the back of each enclosure that accept dual banana jacks or bare wire. These are marked low, mid and high respectively. I installed our gold speaker mounting clamps on this pair of monitors, but if you'd rather have black hardware I can swap it out at no charge. I have been building large format studio monitors for the past five years. What I wanted to do when I began doing this was to offer an affordable solution to the high cost of BIG studio monitors. You can easily pay 3-5 times what I charge for a pair of studio monitors in this class, without even coming close to the performance of these TCM 218-3's. These monitors sound amazing. The low end is tight and deep, the mids are extremely well defined and the high end sparkles as only a TAD compression driver can.. My wife, who has "bat hearing", thinks these are the best sounding monitors I have ever built. The enclosures are constructed of 1 1/4" MDF all around. They are rock solid and DO NOT resonate. These measure 47" W x 32"H x 23"D and weigh just over 280 lbs each fully loaded. I hand build the pallet myself when these are shipped. Shipping to the east coast can take up to 10 business days to get this freight rate through a consolidated shipping service.I am located in Indio, California, about a 2 hour and 15 minute drive from downtown L.A. for local pickup, which is free.
