1948 National 1155 in great vintage condition. These guitars were a collaboration between National-Valco and Gibson. The bodies were made by Gibson and identical to the J-45 of the era and the rest was done by National. The neck is similar in profile to an early 1960s Gibson. It is thin for the era with almost no taper but has a 1 3/4" nut width and 2 1/4" string spacing. The body is solid mahogany with a one piece back, Adirondack spruce top, scalloped bracing, finished in a dark brown sunburst a bit different from a J-45. It has a lot of Mojo and plays just great. It appears to have a new nut and Tuning Keys, there are some cracks to it and some finish flaws as shown in the pictures. The headstock metal plate is missing but you can see the outline and holes that held it on and it has the Metal Serial Number tag V11494.It plays and sounds awesome with booming but mellow sound to it. I am not an expert on Guitars but I have done some research and this is the holy grail of National Valco and Gibson Guitars collaborations. The serial Number dates it to 1948. This is a rare guitar which was purchased from a local collectors estate. I have a fair reserve on this to protect my investment. I tried to take some detailed pictures and I will answer all your questions.See images for condition and ask away.shipping will be 55.00
