Made by Cabart, this Cor Anglais is Conservatoire system (no thumbplate) and is made of Rosewood. It is extremely lightweight compared with other Cors and would suit a young player very well.  I am selling this Cor Anglais as it is currently my spare instrument and doesn't get enough use. The instrument plays very nicely throughout its range and will I'm sure be enjoyed by whoever buys it. The instrument shows the normal signs of wear that you would expect for an instrument of its age, with some plating wear and scratches (as shown in the photos), but having played this instrument with both wind bands and semi-pro orchestras for the last couple of years I've had nothing but good comments regarding its sound.  As you can see in one of the photos, there is a crack in the wood. The crack has been looked at by one of the UK's top oboe repair men, who advised that the location of the crack means that it won't affect the sound of the instrument and that it should be left alone rather than being pinned. The crack is at the top of the lower joint, over the tenon socket. As the tenon socket is metal-lined anyway, the crack causes no problem.  The Cor Anglais will come with one crook (bocal) and the double case I originally got when I bought the instrument. The case is in poor condition and will need replacement, but will be supplied anyway for transport purposes.  This would make a lovely first Cor Anglais for a student or improving oboist. It served me well but I upgraded to a professional instrument.  If you have any questions or if you'd like any further photos please message me.  International bids will be cancelled. I will not ship outside the UK.
