THD BiValve 30W Guitar Amplifier head.The THD BiValve is a unique amp that allows the user to change the valves to any combination of power and pre amp valves.I have replaced the output transformer with an original from the manufacturer in the States and remanufactured the cage top.These amplifiers were £1200 when new. Andy Marshall the original manufacturer now only makes and sells a few amps and spares.This is a rare amp in the UK, last one I saw sold for £750.I have repaired and worked on many PCB based amps and the THD is unlike any other mass produced PCB based amp, with an extra thick industrial PCB with hand wired connections to components, no Fender and others, style 'pots on the board' here.These amps are true 'boutique' hand made amplifiers.I will supply 6 power valves of various types, e.g EL34, KT66, KT88, 6V6, 6L6 any combination can be used as a single or in matched or odd pairs. You can even use 9 pin EL84's and similar with some adaptors.You can also try any combinations of pre amp valvesI will include a selection of those too.See the pictures of the chassis for the various combinations.Google THD BiValve for the various glowing reports for this sturdy amp.Introducing the THD BiValve-30 Amplifier! The new THD BiValve-30 is a Single-Ended Class A amplifier head with two output tubes that can be switched at will among many octal-based power tubes for different tones without re-biasing the amp. Unlike any other amplifier on the market, the BiValve-30 gives each power tube its own cathode-bias circuit and its own transformer winding. This permits the BiValve-30 to run two completely different tube types, creating a new dimension within tube amp sound. Useable tubes include 6L6, EL34, 6550, KT90, KT88, KT77 and KT66. With the amp in “LoV” setting you can use the 6V6 power tube for reduced output power. Special BiValve-30 Yellow Jacket™ Converters are available allowing the BiValve-30 to use the popular EL84 power tube, also in “LoV” setting.
