19th Century 4/4 German Violin New Dominant Strings Ready To Play A nice example of a mid 19th century German violin With ebony fingerboard, chin rest and tailpiece. The sound holes are nicely carved, the purfling is very well done with good contrast between the lines, all which points to a well made instrument. There is evidence of some repairs over the years, this is to be expected with this age of violin and the repairs have been well executed. There is a sound post crack repair to the back of the violin, it has been done to a very high standard (check pictures). Also the front has had a few cracks (all repaired). The violin comes with a brand new set of Dominant strings and also benefits from fine tuners on the tailpiece. The violin plays very well and has a smooth mellow tone throughout its range. Please have a look at this short video of the violin being played to get an idea of the sound. https://youtu.be/Yfw1ZzLwe3E The dimensions of the violin (in mm) are shown on one of the pictures International buyers please contact for postage cost if you are interested Thanks for looking!!!
