This auction is for one Fender Noel Redding Signature Jazz Bass and padded Fender gig bag. Bass is in excellent condition, gig bag in good condition. It is autographed by Noel Redding (), bassist for the Jimi Hendrix Experience, who was also affiliated with the bands , , , , and the . This is one out of 100 that Noel autographed in 1997 and #0298 out of 1000 total made (see photo for # impression on back of head stock). Noel passed away in 2003. I believe all these factors make this bass very rare. My understanding is that this is a replica of the bass Noel played in the Jimi Hendrix Experience band, which was a 1965 sunburst Fender Jazz Bass with tortoise shell pickguard (as cited here: ... "I believe your signature bass premiered at the January ’97 NAMM show in Anaheim..." ). My online research found that these signed basses apparently did not come with any kind of case, or the chrome pickup and bridge covers. This bass guitar is in great shape and has hardly been played. It has 2 small dimples that we can't get a photo of as they don't show up. None are thru the wood. The third dimple (the largest of the 3) is shown in the photo. That is on the top side of the guitar where it's held against your body. It has the '65 Fender Jazz bass logo on the headstock, a decal signature of Noel Redding (as the Fender signature series basses have), and special "Limited Edition" neck back plate. The guitar will look and play like new when you use it. See photos of the very straight neck. Note that the bridge is a Leo Quan (?) Badass II, which is better for playing, or that can be replaced with a stock Fender bridge. The autograph is great. They are light because of the marker Noel used. Prior owners and I have been very careful not to damage the autograph. The one photo makes the autograph appear strong because of the camera light. In normal light it is just visible (other photo), like the other Noel-signed basses I've seen online. All the autographs seem to be like that and I would replace the pick guard if you plan to play the guitar, keeping the signed pick guard in a safe place. From an online sale: "The body is alder for good tone and weight. The 34 inch scale maple neck features a 7.25 inch radius maple fingerboard with 20 vintage frets. Dual vintage style pickups deliver classic tone. Vintage style tuners..."This bass will come well packaged and in a nice padded Fender gig bag (close up photo shows the bag's overall condition, the rest of bag is in similar condition - I just used all 12 photos that eBay allows). NOTE: Shipping to Continental USA addresses only, eBay says $35, but I estimate $50 worst case, or free local pickup ( may deliver if you are local or can meet me in New York City).
