First let me say, that although the listing says no returns, my number one goal is to make another guitar lover happy,  by getting this guitar into their hands.I just recently purchased it, at a time when I couldn't really afford it.  Every now and then, I just get swept up by the beauty of a guitar. This was the case, with this one.  I don't expect the buyer to be anything but thrilled.  The woods used on this guitar,  the Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, the high-quality mahogany, are not found on todays guitars.  And more importantly,  it plays effortlessly and sounds amazing.  Reading my feedback,  will help your peace of mind. This very RARE Archtop was made back when Epiphone was considered one of the best jazz guitar makers. Gibson bought Epiphone in the late 50's and the Epiphone brand became a part of Gibson. They built some nice guitars with  the Epiphone name, but they never matched those produced in New York, at the old factory, as this one was.  They're so well respected,  that they have started to reissue the whole line.  Unfortunately , they are now just another import line, of budget guitars.  It seems to me that these old New York models are rapidy lincreasing in value.   But from the 30's until the end of independent Epiphone, they were among the best arch tops available. Their professional line had a 17 3/8 inch lower bout. The Devon has this larger lower bout with a carved Spruce top. While the other guitars in this line had maple back and sides, the Devons were made of Mahogany. This results in a woodier tone, but with the large unmistakable  Archtop volume. This Devon has been professionally refinished in Nitrocellulose,  by Marty Bell Refinishing in Vista, California. He has extensive experience and does warranty work for Gibson and Martin. His website is very interesting and I would encourage any guitar aficionado to visit it. All of this guitar is original,  except the beautiful tiger striped pick guard.  Everything functions perfectly...Comes with a newer Epiphone Hard case. This is a beautiful guitar built in New York,  by those highly skilled old world craftsmen,  who worked at Epiphone, at that time.  These were the "go to" instruments, for anyone who played in a big band. One of the Gimble brothers, who played with Bob Wills, played the same model. Marty Grosz, David Rawlings, Pokey Lafarge are just a few of today's great artists, who have adopted a new york built  Epiphone archtop,  as their primary instrument. This guitar is stunningly beautiful.   I'm just going to post a couple photos now,  to get the listing up,  but more will follow.  Often my listings do not last long, because there are many people who have me in their favorite seller list, because of my impeccable feedback, as well as their satisfaction,  with their past purchases. They know that I am not a dealer, just another fellow guitar nut, who knows a great guitar when he sees one. Let's keep her here in the USA lower 48 only.
