For your consideration, this is a pair of vintage Altec 436C compressors from the 1960's. I am the second owner of these units and needless to say I am sad to see them go, but due to pending bills I am forced to sell them. They originally came from a radio station in Alaska, because they are only 11 serial numbers apart, to my ears they are a matched pair and both units are totally plug and play, zero issues. These are now hard to find in this condition and also hard to locate as a sonically matched pair.Steve Hazelton was responsible for originally servicing these units. He added a variable attack function (very handy), an output potentiometer (that is now disengaged from the circuit as I felt that it induced unnecessary distortion into the output signal). He also did a mod on the back that by means of connecting a cable both units could be linked in stereo mode (very handy) and that's how I've always used them since. Awesome as a drum sub-compressor, great on bass guitar, great on vocals. The meters on these units work without any issues, and they both feature the original Altec input and output transformers.The pictures speak for themselves.
