This is a somewhat unique instrument. Like an American Deluxe, it has an S1 Switch (inside volume knob) and upgraded pickups (see Photo), but does not have locking tuners, strap buttons or roller nut. Note: 60th Anniversary Button on headstock. (it has a Z5 Serial number, but stamps on inside confirm 2006)I found the instrument with some heavy signs of use, although the neck, and fretwires are still very good. The Translucent finish is achieved in a an unusual way, with a very thick coating of clear over the wood, then application of the butterscotch color, then a thin layer of clear coat. The result is pretty brittle and this instrument has at least FIVE large area's(1cm +) where the finish has been damaged (including the neck pocket). I took my time, chipped out the weak paint, filled with epoxy, then wet sanded/compounded until smooth. The result is really good, as though factory relic'd.Although you cannot judge the finish repairs til you receive it, I am very comfortable saying the instrument plays exactly as it should (Based on my experience, 1 guitar in 5 that has that "buttery" feel.)Everything on the instrument is original except new pickguard screws, new strap buttons and new trem bar.
