Pre-war Vega 6-string guitar banjo, Style Little Wonder, open back. The instrument is largely original, except for the usual replacements, i.e. head, bridge and strings, plus a recent wire-style armrest. Fresh strings. I received it without tuners and completed it with period friction tuners, most likely identical to those of the original. It has the big 11 13/16 inch rim that seems Vega's standard size for guitar banjos. Ser. no. is 45072, matching on rim and dowel, dating it to the year 1921.I acquired this banjo two years ago with a heel crack and a cupped finger board. These flaws were corrected in the US by a top repair man. He fixed the heel crack, flattened the finger board, installed new frets and added little side-dot markers. The rim of the pot was repainted and all wooden parts got a new clear coat. Metal hardware was cleaned and polished. His expert set-up provided a banjo in excellent shape and perfect playability. It's ready for playing "as is". A great opportunity for the lover of original unfalsified banjos!
