Adams Custom Series A5 FG-GL Bb Trumpet
.460" ML bore 3ML leadpipe One-piece 4,9” brass bell 0,45mm thickness Gold lacquer finish Incredible lead horn as played by New York studio player Frank Greene. Responsive, flexible and very easy to play. Wonderfully free blowing in the upper register but very focused and centered with lots of core to the sound, which is in itself usual for a lightweight trumpet. One of, if not the best lead trumpets I’ve ever blown. Feels like a cross between really great NY Bach and a Calicchio 1S2. Also has similarities to the design of the Benge 3X. Can be used in all kinds of playing situations. Adams promotes this as a commercial horn and works very well in that context, but it’s also great for solo work or orchestral. Fantastic Bauerfeind valves, really fast and smooth. Superb condition. No dents dings or lacquer wear. Only very light use. Please note: on the pic of the Adams logo on the bell there looks like a dent but please rest assured it's only a reflection on the pic - the horn is dink and dent free! Comes with very nice Jacob Winter lightweight bullet case. Cost to buy new £2250. The A5 is perfectly suited for the commercial trumpeter looking for a lightweight horn with excellent intonation, slotting, and response. Initially when we designed this instrument here we thought it was only going to cater towards the commercial/lead trumpeter but we find many of our classical artists looking for an easy-playing instrument for “pops” work also liking this very much. Seller is a professional trumpet player and brass teacher, any questions or offers please feel free to message me or you can also contact me on 07831 704007. Will post or collection from central London or High Wycombe can be arranged.
