Welcome to this auction for an Original, used VINTAGE,  ALVAREZ  WHYTE EAGLE "Model 4310" acoustic BANJO.....ca. 1970's.  Made in JAPAN.  Work of art!  The banjo has not been played very much, and as such, it is in excellent / near perfect condition.  Note:  I am not a banjo player, but I am not aware of any playability issues.  Plays great to me!   22  fret.  26_1/4" scale.   Typical "closet classic".  We do not use stock photos.  The item(s) in the pictures is / are the item(s) being shipped.  As with most used / vintage instruments, you will find a few scars, scratches, dings, and dents (and not limited to those referred to or shown in the pictures).  But, in this case, hardly any.  A few scratches on the head.  Maybe a ding here and there, but for an almost 40 year old instrument, near mint.  Every player I know, sets their banjo up for their specific playing style and technique.  So, since I absolutely am not a banjo player, you will need to set this instrument up to meet your specifications.  Sounds great to me, though,   Again, remember, you should always expect to set up an instrument to meet YOUR specifications, as what I like may not be what you prefer.  Original case.  I have done NO cleanup on this instrument.  This is exactly how it came to me.  (I do notice a little flaking of the finish on the headstock laminate.  And, on the hack of the headstock, as I recall, there would have been a "production" sticker.  The sticker is gone, and the glue residue from that sticker is still there.  I haven't been able to remove it.)   The following is taken from an internet informational website:"Bluegrass banjo players seek out these 70’s Whyte Eagles, known for their tone and craftsmanship. It was a pretty short window of only about five years, when these banjos were made with this kind of craftsmanship. They blow away most any banjo made and marketed (from any country) in the 60s, 70s and 80s– and they show no logos on headstock– just beautiful mother of pearl. It’s the No. 4310 “Whyte Eagle”. Based on late 1920’s Vega Griffin (Tubaphone #9) style inlays, with engraved, carved heel. Sunburst finish maple banjo, Gibson-style 2 piece flange, full height 20 hole archtop tone ring, dual coordinator rods, flamed maple resonator, maple neck, chrome finish. Neck is butterfly with ebony strip on back of neck, down the center." Please email any questions. Now, have fun winning this "AS IS" auction!
