Vintage Funkwerk VV8311.10 tube mic preamp / DIFully working and modified for variable gain and DI inputRare bird from the 1950s.
East German broadcasting technology from the golden era.
Fully transformer balanced valve design.
This is actually a close relative of the Lorenz V241.The VV8311.10 normally only has an internal jumper bridge to adjust gain in two steps (dynamic mic / condenser mic)This one here has been modified for variable gain.
The range on the front plate is around 0 .. 65dB.
Also, a high impedance DI input has been added, it goes straight onto the grid of the first tube.This preamp can go from clean to hairy and will always deliver a super robust signal that solidly sits in the mix.
No hum, good S/N ratio.
The DI is definitely one of the best I've ever heard on bass guitar.
Tone for days!!This is of course highly subjective, so I'll leave it to some sound samples.Absolutely no EQ or post processing on these recordings!Esthetical condition see pics.
