These have been hanging on the wall for about 30 years and I last played them about 40 years ago. Unless they are to be a display piece they need several replacement parts to restore to playing condition. They did play, including the regulators, years ago; so I assume they can be restored with knowledge and patience.
There is a recent chanter reed but the drone and regulator reeds are past it. It needs a new ferrule for the chanter end, new rush pins for the regulators and a general clean up. The bellows and bag are sound though! The green velvet bag covering needs cleaning or replacing.
The chanter, drone stock, bag and drones appear to be original but the regulators, chanter stock and probably the bellows are replacements from some time before 1965 when I acquired them.
There is a makers stamp on the chanter but it is not readable, the best guess is "Ross". Below that name the stamp "Dublin" is clearer. I have made some enquiries but have not found that name among listed pipe makers.
Questions are welcome; local pickup (5 miles from Leeming Bar, junction 51 on A1) is preferred to avoid damage, but they can be packaged securely for courier delivery. I have guessed the shipping cost based on courier websites, but if it costs more I will pay the extra. (UK mainland only - for other destinations please contact me before bidding).
