Description This bass started out as a regular fretted bass. In the 1980's the frets were ground down to the level of the rosewood fingerboard, effectively making this instrument play like a fretless bass while retaining the leveled off frets as markers. Bass weighs 8.65 lbs. CosmeticsAll original finish is in great condition. Paint is worn through on the bass side of the lower bout. Some very small dings and scratches. Neck is in overall excellent condition.Pickguard is cracked at the lower end near the jack and a washer has been used as a reinforcement. Small gouges in the pickguard near the truss rod adjuster at the base of the neck. Hardware: Original Fender factory tuners and bridge. Thumb and finger rests are not included Metal bridge cover and pickup guard are not included Original lower peg strap has been removed, and replaced by an oversized strap peg on the face of the body next to the bridge. Original upper strap peg has been replaced with an oversized version.
Playability:
This is a very fun to play instrument. The rosewood neck is smooth with very little wear. The fret lines are flush with the rosewood surface. Sounds and feels exactly like a fretless bass.
