I haven't had this guitar that long as I just recently picked it up from Cream City Music. I'm normally a Tele and Les Paul player that got sucked into the raw BB King style coolness of the ES and bought it on impulse.
What makes this guitar special : A superb player with a minor cosmetic issue making it a very affordable '60s ES-335. A smooth, comfortable neck & pro refret make it a dream to play & the pair of Pat No humbuckers sound absolutely amazing. The walnut finish is still quite strong & vibrant, underscoring its true vintage pedigree. Professionally inspected & set up by the experts at Cream City Music, so it's guaranteed to play like a charm straight out of the case.Cosmetic Condition: Great shape overall with typical signs of light play wear - various minor nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & mild finish blemishes. Quite some time ago the original tuners with replaced with Grovers or Schallers & additional holes were added. The previous owner had repro tuners put on the guitar & the additional screw holes filled. The back of the headstock was then refinished to cover the work. We checked out the guitar under blacklight & there are no headstock cracks. The refin was done strictly to cover the filling of the holes from the unoriginal tuners.Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Beautiful, dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Professionally refretted with medium-jumbo frets & frets show no wear. Newer repro tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 9/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in good working condition.Body: Double-bound, semi-hollow maple body with dual F-holes. Trapeze tailpiece & ABR-1 bridge with nylon saddles & chrome hardware. 5-ply black pickguard is in great shape with no cracks, but does show some pick wear. Guitar weighs 7 lbs 13.2 oz.Pickups: Original Gibson Pat No. humbuckers with black bezels. Bridge - 7.34K ohms; Neck - 7.41K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with black "witch hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch.
