This is a rare opportunity to acquire an excellent handmade guitar by Osamu Nakade. The Nakade dynasty is one of the most highly-regarded in Japanese luthiery. Osamu's uncle, Sakazo Nakade, is considered by some to be the father of Japanese guitar-building. This particular model cost 100,000¥ when it was built in 1982, making it quite an expensive instrument at the time. This guitar features a high grade solid spruce top with 5 fan bracing. The back and sides are solid Indian rosewood. This guitar produces clear and ringing trebles, very rich and resonating basses, all well balanced with great sustain and at high volume. It is very responsive and offers excellent note separation. Scale length is 650mm and nut width is 52mm. The guitar has had a couple of repairs, one to the binding at the toe and another to a centre seam separation on the soundboard. Both repairs were done by Staffordshire luthier, Roger Williams. It is now in excellent structural condition. Cosmetically, there are some scratches and minor dings on the soundboard. All of these issues are reflected in the asking price and none affect sound or playability. Recently restrung with D'addario EJ45 strings. Action is at 12th fret is 3.75mm low E and 2.75mm high E. Comes with a hard foam case. Available for collection from Newcastle under Lyme in Staffordshire or I will post via Parcelforce 48.
