The Schertler A-DYN is a miniature low impedance contact microphone designed for mounting on the body of an acoustic instrument where it can pickup vibrations directly.The A-DYN is a universal transducer meaning that it is engineered to work with any acoustic instrument.The A-DYN SET includes the A-PRE preamp which is designed specifically for the A-DYN microphone. The low impedance active A-Class electronics guaranty a high professional studio level quality signal and facilitate set-up with its tailored EQ/filters.Using the A-DYN together with the A-Pre provides an active 3 step gain function plus additional controls for bass roll-off and a phase switch for management of feedback or alternate sound presentation.Compared to the other DYN models in Schertler's line, the A-DYN uses a smaller more powerful magnet that weighs only 7% of the original DYN. It gives the A-DYN better low-end response, flatter overall frequency response from a wide 20Hz to 18kHz spectrum, and more articulation due to its compact size/weight. The dynamic range is around 142dB which gives it extremely clean output.The A-Pre is a phantom powered unit with three controls: a phase switch, a three position low frequency roll-off filter (flat, 100Hz, 200Hz), and a three position gain switch (0dB, +8dB, +16dB).
