2013 5E3 Tweed Deluxe reproduction by Uncle Spot (Ron Veil). 20 loud Watts. Ron is a master amp builder and technician. He has serviced amps over the years owned by major artists, such as Neil Young. He has been hand building these superb amps for approximately 40 years. As you can see from the photos, he uses only the best components and has superb attention to detail, just look at how beautifully the vintage cloth covered wiring is routed so neatly! This particular amplifier is the result of decades of experience (he has listened to hundreds of 5E3's, some sounded good and some not so good) and is an exact reproduction of Neil Young's best sounding 1957 5E3. He has rare analog measuring instruments to measure the specs of each component and has painstakingly duplicated each one. The result is breathtaking. He had Ted Weber custom manufacture the speaker to match the spec's of Neil's speaker. He had Mercury Magnetics custom build the transformer to match the spec's of Neil's transformer. The cabinet is a Mojotone pine cabinet with fingerjointed construction. He sprayed his own lacquer to lacquer the tweed. Each tube was measured and hand selected to match Neil's tubes. The attention to detail is unreal. The sound is the holy grail of tone.
This amp is in mint condition, the tolex and grille cloth are flawless. No dings, dents, etc. The tubes were just tested and are within new specs. I planned on keeping this wonderful amp for life but I am primarily a bass player and just don't play guitar enough to justify keeping it when someone could be enjoying it. I've played it only a few times and it has never left the bedroom, never gigged, always kept under a dust cover.
